Travel in style and fast like Tarek Bin Laden

Yup, you did read it right, the title says Tarek Bin Laden, a cousin of the Bin Laden we all know. He’s the first one to buy a new supersonic airplane called “Aerion” developed by AerionCorp headquartered in Reno, Nevada.

The inspiration for the name lies in the Greek mythology, Aerion was the name of a very fast horse.

The airplane will be 148.3 feet long with a wingspan of 64.2 feet and an overall height of 23.3 feet. (A Boeing bizjet, the 737-700 in comparison weighs 154,500 lbs, is 110.2 ft. long with a wingspan of 117.4 feet and a high of 41.3 feet.)
It will travel the skies at a maximum cruise speed of 1.6 Mach. A trip from Paris to New York will only take 4 hours and 14 minutes.

IWebTool, Check your internal Pagerank

Lately I’ve been doing some research on how to work on my internal link building.

Fist of I need to check my internal sites PageRank. This can be done at livepr.info
Simply select “Check PR of internal pages”, put in your domain and let the site configure a list with all your links and the PageRank the internal sitelink represents. Be patient, it can take a while.

Although this site will check your internal sites PageRank all at once, I don’t like the site that much because I’ve found a very interesting site that visualizes your PageRank links on your site itself.

This site is called iWebTool. You only have to put in the name of your site and they will display an overlay on your site that contains all the PageRank info you need.
I do realize that this tool won’t check all your links at once like livepr is doing, but I really like the way they still show your site.
At their homepage they also have some other usefull tools, like: BackLink checker, rank checker, link popularity, ping test, …

On the WebTools tab, their even more tools. The ‘Link Price Calculator’ is worth a look also.

To conclude, it’s a bit more work with the Visual PageRank tool, but I don’t mind to do it like this. Would you?

Protect your iPod

You all probably recognize the following problem, you bought or won yourself an iPod or a Smartphone and you’ll try to protect the screen as much as you can. But sooner or later it can and will be scratched.

For those who want to protect their precious babies, here’s a site where you can buy a useful invisible shield to protect the screen of your little gadget. It’s an invisible overlay to protect your ipod case or other devices against scratches. The shield itself is made from a unique material. It won’t just protect your iPod, it can also protect your cell phone, PDA, ...

If they haven’t got a design that fits the screen you would like to protect, no problem they also create a design especially for your device.
And they do mean business, if the invisibleSHIELD ever scratches, they’ll replace it for free, for life.

Where can you win an iPod Touch?

While it’s not yet released, there are a few sites that allready have created a contest to win the new iPod Touch.
I ‘googled’ around a bit and found the following sites where you can try and win one.

  • www.tvl.be: Belgian site where you’ll have to play a “snake” clone game. If you can get more then 150 points, you’re in the draw for the iPod Touch. You can try as much as you like, but whenever you’ll submit your score you’ll have to invite a friend.
  • www.entrypark.com:To qualify for the drawing of the iPod touch, you have to successfully recommend Entrypark to at least one of your friends. That means, if your friend signs up using the recommendation link until September 30, 2007, you automatically qualify for the drawing of the iPod touch. Chances are not increased by recommending Entrypark to more than one friend.
  • www.t3.co.uk: All you’ll have to do here is answer a very simple question and input your data and enter the competition.
  • www.forteantimes.com: Answer the questions and signup, simple!
  • Alex Marchuk: Just pay the site a visit and enter a comment. There must be at least 500 comments before the 28th of september, else there won’t be a winner. Submit your comments!!!!

  • Good luck to you all!

Do you still have your Commodore 64?

    I do!
I was cleaning out some closets today when suddenly a box caught my attention. That’s my old Commodore 64, oh yeh tongue wink
Quickly set the box aside and cleaned up the rest. Once that was finished, it was childhood memories time!!!
Pulled out my 22 year old C64, my 1541 Floppy Disk drive, a bunch of floppy disks and connected it to an old TV.

    It still works!!!!!  cheese
I used to play hours and hours on my C64 as most of the other C64 owners. I still remember the day I got it, a saturday in april, sun was shining, around 21°C outside but no way anyone could get me out of the house that day.
At 1am my mother told me to stop playing, I was 10 years old and should be in bed a long time ago. Not tired at all, I went to bed and a few hours later when everyone was a sleep, this little boy got out of bed and started playing again. At 8am my father asked how long I was awake? Me: “only 30 minutes” LOL

I still remember a lot of games I played back then, California Games (about 12 joysticks wrecked with this game!!!), Outrun, The Gianna Sisters, Defender of The Crown, Blue Max, 1942, ...
A few months later I bought a special cartrigde to speed up load times.
If we went to the library with my class, instead of normal books, I rented a book that explains how to write programs on a C64.
I can honestly say that the C64 changed my life, my computer addiction started back then.

The last time I’ve played on a C64 was via an emulator, CSS64 and a bunch of ROM’s. Although it’s the same output you get, nothing is better then the real deal.

It’s also funny to see how much the computer has evolved, here are a few Commodore 64 specs:

  • Released: September 1982
  • Introduction Price: $595
  • CPU: MOS 6510, 1MHz
  • Sound: SID 6581, 3 channels of sound
  • RAM: 64K
  • Display: 25 X 40 text
  • 320 X 200, 16 colors max
  • Ports: TV, RGB & composite video
  • 2 joysticks, cartridge port
  • external 170K floppy drive
  • OS: ROM BASIC

  • A fun trip on memory lane it was today, anyone of you still have an old C64 somewhere lying around?
Do you still play on it sometimes? I was thinking to give it a special place beside my desk, just for old time’s sake.
