I really love this commercial, it’s a fun way to remind people to care about the environment.
You sure have to take a look at it.
I can’t wait to see the responses this commercial will get from some instances or organisations by showing *sses. ![]()
To me Greenpeace made a very funny commercial that surely wake up some people to be more ‘green’ in the future.
If you’re in the IT business like me, you probably know you can’t learn enough.
IT technology won’t stand still and is continuously developing.
Knowing this it’s in yours and your company’s best interest that you keep on developing your IT skills. Too bad some companies don’t feel the same way on this. For some it’s too much of a hassle to send you out for training or a seminar.
If you won’t take any lessons or trainings yourself, you’ll soon find out that you’re lagging behind against others.
I hear you saying: “I have a full time job, kids at home, …, I don’t have time to go to an evening class for 4 hours, 1 or 2 days per week”.
Well that’s where web based training tools come in handy.
With these CBT’s you choose what you want to learn whenever you want to learn. So if you’ll have 30 minutes of free time today and 20 minutes tomorrow, and so on, you’ll be learning something new every day at your own pace.
I’m sure if your company knows about this way of learning, they’ll soon motivate your colleagues to do the same. After all, having skilled employees in a company could result in the advantage against the competitor and thus closing more deals.
And what company is against winning more deals? ![]()
A few days ago, RealRank officially launched.
Don’t know what RealRank is?
RealRank was created because the creators believe (and sometime they’re right) that Google’s Pagerank or Alexa’s ranking aren’t helpful enough for bloggers and advertisers.
Alexa’s ranking is based on the times our site is visited by people who installed the Alexa Toolbar. This will give a very inaccurate traffic ranking as this is very easy to manipulate.
Google’s pagerank is good to some people, but to others it’s hell. PageRank is mostly based on how much links your site is getting from others. There are lots and lots of other factors playing a rol in Google’s PageRank, but to talk about that I can make a lot of new posts especially for this.
So what make RealRank different then?
For starters its simplicity (most great inventions are very simple). It just gathers real traffic information.
It calculates the site’s RealRank based on a formula that’s really simple.
How can you find out your site’s RealRank?
By simply installing a little piece of Javascript on to your site. The code itself you can find in your PPP (Pay Per Post) account settings. If you’re not a member of the PPP community, you can sign up herehttp://tinyurl.com/2ghbe9. After you successfully signed-up go to your account settings and click on the PPP tools to find everything you need to now. Or you can install the IZEA Toolkit (ITK).
They believe that they can provide a measurement tool with RealRank that actually means something to bloggers and advertisers.
And they are open for suggestion, what can’t be said about Google. Also the formulas they’ll use will be open to the public and if changes are made to the formulas they’ll explain why they did so.
Let the war begin!
RealRank Vs PageRank, who’ll win the fight?
Most of us now the feeling, you’ll do your best to make a quality post to share with the world.
But what sense does it make if nobody reads it?
That’s where the social media sites jump in. Sites like Digg, can make sure your post is getting read by tons and tons of people.
If your story gets popular on Digg, you’ll probably have a dozens of new visitors on your site. But if your story makes it to the front page, your visitors will skyrocket trough the roof.
So far the ideal scenario. Which one of you ever got a story on Digg’s front page? I’m guessing not that much.
Many people are asking themselves how you can get on the Digg front page.
One thing you can try to do is beg your friends and ask them to Digg your story in the hope other Digg readers will notice the post and Digg it also.
Another thing you can do is Digg some stories yourself and comment the story. A lot of ‘Diggers’ do read the comments and from time to time visit the commentator’s profile.
The number one thing to do for getting on the front page is be the first to post the upcoming news. Most Digg users use Digg to quickly find stories they’re interested in. So if you can post anything that will become ‘hot’ news, you’ll have a good chance to get digged.
But what if all your efforts are resulting in failure?
Well try other social media sites. Sphinn is one of those. They do have a big users database, but not as big as the Digg users database. To get on the Sphinn’s Hot topics list you don’t need the amount of votes that you’ll need on Digg, but a lot less. I admit, this also means you’re not getting the same amount of traffic, but it will do get your site noticed out there.
One of the great things I like in Sphinn is that you can see the entire Sphinn member’s list and separately you can see the amount of ‘Sphinners’ that created a post that went into the Hot topics list.
To conclude this post, I don’t say give up on Digg, it still is one if not the best social media site’s out there, but do try others out also.
You all probably recognize the following problem, you bought or won yourself an iPod or a Smartphone and you’ll try to protect the screen as much as you can. But sooner or later it can and will be scratched.
For those who want to protect their precious babies, here’s a site where you can buy a useful invisible shield to protect the screen of your little gadget. It’s an invisible overlay to protect your ipod case or other devices against scratches. The shield itself is made from a unique material. It won’t just protect your iPod, it can also protect your cell phone, PDA, ...
If they haven’t got a design that fits the screen you would like to protect, no problem they also create a design especially for your device.
And they do mean business, if the invisibleSHIELD ever scratches, they’ll replace it for free, for life.
