Once again I came by a very nice and good to know Stumble on my 5th Stumble in a row.
Lucky for me that I didn’t have to blog about my 4th stumble, a picture of a car with 1 horsepower. Actually a car without a motor and pulled by a horse
.
K, back to today’s stumble.
Today’s stumble took me to Smashing Magazines website post “Powerful CSS Techniques for effective coding”.
For those who regularly develop websites and are in need for some new CSS techniques, you should definitely check it out!
In this post he presents 50 new techniques, ideas and ready-to-use solutions for effective coding.
In fact I’m redesigning one of my sites at the moment and after viewing this page, I’m thinking of using one of the techniques posted there.
Technique number 22, CSS Dock menu seems very nice, but it’s Apple style, that’s always nice ![]()
Now to the rewarding part of my previous stumbling Friday post. This was a really cool stumble I came across with. Because of the low number of comments, I’m going to stumble every commentator’s site or blog just to thank them for leaving a comment!
Hope you’ll receive a lot of traffic from my stumble!
For this post, I’m going to try something new to get more comments. Instead of picking a winner out of every 5 commentator’s, I’m going to stumble the first 20 commentator’s!
I also have something in mind for my commentator of the month, but that’s something you’ll have to read in one of my next posts. So if you want to know what, please subscribe to my RSS Feed, so you’ll get your updates automatically.
Ok, I got your attention didn’t I?
Now you want to know how I did it?
Well very easy, I subscribed to AdToll.
AdToll is a fairly new Ad network from Australia and I’ve looked at some other blogs posts first before subscribing myself.
So If you’re tired of AdSense, give AdToll a go. You can choose between different ad spaces, from a 468x60 top banner to a 320x250 Video ad. And they’ve introduced the peel away ad. Just like flipping a page in a book, very cool. But I think this is only usefull for those blogs or sites who are using the full width of a screen. On the AdToll homepage you can see a preview, but I overlooked it the first time, and that’s because the theme AdToll is using focusses your eyes to the center of the screen.
Another good thing you can do at AdToll is set your own price per week. But they recommend to set it to automatic. This you should review after a couple of weeks, if you see your spots are getting filled up easy or not.
So as from yesterday AdToll ads will be displayed on the Million Dollar Challenge.
After dumping AdGridWork late January, I found myself a new possible moneymaker to play with.
At the end of this post you can see a little preview of how the AdToll video ad could look like.
Wish me luck and don’t forget to subscribe to AdToll, as they currently offer every subscriber $20 just to sign up. Easy as that!
For those of you who regularly organize meetings, trainings or seminars, you probably look out for some decent meeting rooms. At BusinessSuites you can rent your conference rooms, executive suites, etc… on a “pay-per-use” basis.
Every room is fully equipped and also features professional administrative support.
So when you’re looking for a great new location to host your next meeting, check out Columbia Office Space.
Just a few hours ago, Adobe released their Adobe Air application to the public. Adobe Air is especially developed to build rich Internet Applications that deploy to the desktop and run across multiple operating systems.
I’ve just installed it on my portable to test it and I must say I’m pretty impressed.
I went to the Adobe Marketplace and downloaded and installed the Google Analytics Reporting Suite.
Filled in my account and voila Google Analytics on your desktop. Works like a charm.
On their marketplace they currently have about 35 applications that are written for Adobe Air, but this number will only increase in the next few weeks, as more and more people will see the benefits of this new tool.
Some applications that are available are: The Google Analytics Reporting Service, SnapShooter by Safari, FotoBooth, StockQ, …
If you would like to develop your own application for Adobe Air, you can download their SDK kit, Flex 3 SDK, Adobe Air extension for Dreamweaver and flex Builder 3 from the tools page.
Yesterday I implemented part 4 of my quest to more RSS Subscribers.
Just underneath the first post’s title I’m displaying some text where I politely
ask you to subscribe to my RSS feed either by RSS reader or by email.
And today I’m going to make work of part 5.
In part 5 I’m going to reward everyone who’s part of the EntreCard community and subscribes to my Full feed RSS by email. If you leave me a message with your EntreCard profile in it or send me an Entrecard message, I’ll add 100EC to your account.
And to make it a little RSS Link Exchange, I was thinking about the following.
If you want me to subscribe to your RSS feed by email, I’ll just give you 50EC instead of 100EC. Just ask me, no problem!
You can leave me a message here or on Entrecard.
If you aren’t a member of the Entrecard Community, I’ll subscribe to your feed to if you ask me, but you best leave a comment in this post then, or mail me via my contact form.
For those who are new here, the first step I’d take to get more RSS readers was the redesign of my site. That’s where it all started. I made sure the RSS button to subscribe was placed on a prominent place at my blog, so every visitor like you, could see it in a blink of an eye.
A few weeks later I subscribed to RSSHugger. If I look at my stats I see that RSSHugger is delivering some traffic like it promises, but I think that’s mostly because of my ranking in their Top100 list.
In the next few days I’m going to search for some other sites or techniques to gain some new RSS readers. If I find something interesting, I’ll keep you posted. Or do you have some interesting tips?
For now, please subscribe to my Full Feed RSS ![]()
