Make money with PPP

Today PayPerPost announced that they will make it a bit easier to join their program.
Until yesterday the rule was that your blog needed to be 90 days old and had a minimum of 20 existing posts before they even consider it for a review.
Now your blog need to be 30 days old and only have 10 existing posts.
With this adjusted rule, PPP wants to allow many good blogs and bloggers into their marketplace.

So if you recently have been rejected by PPP, this is the time to resubmit your blog once again for a review. Maybe you’ll get accepted this time. And if you never submitted your site to PPP before, maybe this is the time to monetize your blog a bit.

I know that it’s generating some extra income for this blog every now and then.
If you get accepted to the marketplace and start writing reviews, I have a few tips I do follow.

  • Don’t create reviews for the money, create them for the fun of it, the money is an extra.
  • Be honest in your reviews.
  • Don’t forget your site-wide disclosure policy
  • And remember, after every review, must be followed by a normal blog post.

Have fun making money!

100 MyBlogLog members goal achieved

A few days back I wrote a post that I almost reached 100 members in my MyBlogLog community.
At that time the counter stood on 90 members. After that post it went very fast, and now I’m over 100 members in my community. Now up to 200 and more!
So thank you all for joining my community.
For those who didn’t joined yet, please do so and I’ll return the favor by joining your community.
So far for the good news.

A little bad news now. I know there will be a few readers disappointed with this news.
I’m dropping the 100.000 EC give away.
I’ll explain a bit here. A few days back I received a message from one of the admins at Entrecard, asking why there were 2 accounts, ‘donating’ me credits?
I told him that this was 1 extra account from me and another from a cousin of me.
To achieve the 1000EC/day goal, I committed myself to drop cards, not for one account, but for two accounts. If you know that you can drop 300 cards in about 30 to 60 minutes, that means I dropped cards for at least 60 to 120 minutes a day.

Ok, I know, I did overshoot the number a bit, but I honestly believe that I could reach the target if I still was allowed to do it like that.
He disabled my cousins account because his site wasn’t compliant with the rules at Entrecard.
And for my extra account, he also told me that it wasn’t that compliant either, so I decided to drop the challenge at that point, because it will be very very very hard to reach the 100.000 EC goal with just 1 working account.
On the other hand he was willing to help me out at the end if I didn’t reach the target (which I felt was very cool of him). But when I read his reply a bit further it all came down to that I had to pay for the missing EC’s. And that’s not what I’m going to do at all.

The good news for those who joined is that I still have all the EC I’ve gathered until today.
So I’m going to reward those who joined my full feed RSS by e-mail. Also, the ones who helped me out by donating some EC will be rewarded. Every donator will get there EC’s back, times 2.

Does this mean that I’m dropping Entrecard in the whole?
I don’t think so, I still like Entrecard and the traffic it brings, but at the moment the motivation is very low.
After I rewarded my subscribers (this will happen somewhere this week, so keep an eye on your mailbox)  I’m going to see what to do with Entrecard in the future. I have a small idea that needs some tweaking and definitely will not be hard to achieve. cheese

Back to space

As announced in a previous post, at the end of September, it was believed that Belgian astronaut Frank De Winne will go 6 months to space.

Today it’s made official, the European Space Agency (ESA) has assigned crews for the next flight opportunities.
And Belgian Frank De Winne was assigned to join mission 19 and stay in the International Space Station for 6 months.

The trip to the ISS itself will go through somewhere in May 2009.
He will make the voyage to the ISS in a Russian Soyuz spacecraft together with Russian cosmonaut Yuri Lonchakov and Canadian Space Agency astronaut Robert Thirsk.
After 2002, it’s Frank’s second time in space, but now he’ll stay a bit longer than 1 week in the ISS.

Stumbling Friday – Drop.io private exchange

Those who are new here and don’t know what Stumbling Friday is, read my first Stumbling Friday post.

Today the 5th stumble I came by was a site called Drop.io
I never heard of it before. In fact I didn’t even heard of the ‘io’ top level domain.
I did a quick lookup in Google and it told me that io stands for Britisch Indian Ocean Territory.
So far this lesson of geography, back to the stumble.

What Drop.io actually does is pretty neat.
A ‘drop’ as they call it is just a file or image you would like to share with someone. You create one and send the url of the drop to your friends or whoever you want to share it with.
You can even specify if you allow others to edit your content, which can be handy if your working on some files.
You just create your ‘drop’ by adding a file, give a name, an optional password and an expiration time.  For the fun of it I’ve created one with some usefull tips for my male readers. Check out http://drop.io/scoreornot

Now my part of Stumbling Friday.
As promised in my first Stumbling Friday post, for every 5 comments on my stumbling posts, I’ll stumble 1 persons blog or site.
And because the previous post was the first in hopefully a long, long series of stumbling posts, I stumbled every commentators site., check out my stumble profile for proof. smile

Also I would like to thank you guys/girls for the great replies and I’ve seen my idea is allready spreading on the net. Hani, expect me to come by your blog also with a comment. cheese

Remember, for every 5 comments on this post, I’ll stumble 1 lucky winner.

My Card is on JohnChow.com

A few days back I’ve seen there where spots open on John Chow’s Entrecard widget.
So I immediately paid some entrecard credits to advertise on his marvelous blog.

A couple of hours later my advertisement card was approved. It will be displayed on the 7th of February.
That’s today. cheese

I’m curious how many people will click their way to my site via my card. On a few other blogs I’ve read numbers from 50 to 100+. Although I’ve paid more than 50 EC, even more then 200 EC to advertise on his blog, I will be very happy when I get just around 50 visitors via his site. After buying a card on his site, I also bought some ad spaces on some other top sites in the Entrecard community.
Afterwards I’ll write a little review about which site gave the most hits in return for its credits.

Also today I’ve seen that someone posted another comment in my Stumbling Friday post. (Thx Hani)
So this means that one of these 5 commentators will receive a stumble from me.
For those who don’t know what Stumbling Friday is about, please read the post.
But just remember, for every 5 comments in that post I’ll stumble 1 lucky winner’s blog or site.
If you don’t want to miss tomorrow’s stumble, just subscribe to my full feed RSS to keep up to date.

For now, I’m going to drop some more entrecards.
