Well today’s 5th stumble was a bit disappointing, but on the other hand very useful if you’re developing sites.
I ended up on Mediacollege.com’s Country list page.
Here you can find a complete list written in html that you just have to copy/paste into your code to use it.
You have 2 options.
The values you can use afterwards to make some checks on or so.
And that’s it. As said, I felt a bit unhappy with this stumble, but I’m sure some of my readers will find this stumble pretty handy.
Last week’s Stumbling Friday about ‘Web resources for Students’ got 1 comment. Thx Shanker!
I’ve stumbled one of your posts as a little prize for the comment.
Remember, Stumbling Friday is about sharing some traffic love by stumbling.
You comment on this post, you’ll get stumbled by me.
And if you’re interested in joining the ‘Stumble me, I Stumble you’ movement, just let me know!
Also remember that the end of the month is almost there. If you end up first in my Top commentator’s list, I will reward you for it, like I did last month. Look at February’s Top commentator #1.
Just today I got the opportunity to look at a brand new site with all kind of rap artists and albums on it.
My first impression was very good, a nice layout, that has just enough ‘bling’ to feature on a rap-site.
The header is nicely created with 4 Icons in the Rap industry, although I’m certain I will get reactions about some artists who’re not in the header and are Icons themselves.
Directly available on the top right is the search button, type in the artist or album you’re searching and if it’s in the database they show it.
The rightbar also shows some ‘Top lists’, a link to the forum and some upcoming new albums.
On the homepage’s contentpane, there always a featured artist block displayed together with some links to more information about the artist.
Underneath this it shows the latest rap albums that are released. I only have 1 remark about this, everything looks really great, but I think if the ‘New releases’ title itself will be a link it can drive more visitors to the next page. The title is more noticeable than the ‘View All New releases’ link just right from it. And this is because this link is with a gold color on a white background.
But that’s my opinion. I don’t know what you think about it?
And another opinion I have, but this is very personal, is the footer, it’s all centered out. Ok, this can be nice, but to me it looks like there wasn’t any time anymore to pay some attention to this. I feel if you can re-organize this footer a bit the site in the whole will look so much better than it looks now.
But overall, well done!!!
My 5th stumble I came across with today was Studenthack.org post about ‘101+ Web resources for students’.
It shows URL’s to sites that could be very useful if you’re a student yourself.
Whenever you have to write a paper for school, you can check out the links, maybe there’s something interesting available for you to help you out.
There’re links to Almanacs, Biographies, Dictionaries, Encyclopedias, General Research, Journal articles databases, literature, …
In my last Stumbling Friday post, there was 1 brave soul that took the challenge to post a comment. ![]()
Your site is stumbled by me now.
Now enjoy this weeks stumble.
A couple of Swedish guys in wheelchairs that formed their own band.
They’re singing famous songs, but with the exception that they’re using their own created lyrics for it.
Definitely watch the movie, it’s hilarious!!!
First of all I’m sorry for the lack of posts this week. But I’m very busy with creating a new design for another site of me and I also have to create everything behind the design.
Back to Stumbling Friday. Today my 5th stumble brought me to the ‘Crash Internet explorer’ site.
A little warning for those who are planning to open the link I provide to that site!!!
The page they’ve set up for this has an extra line of code added in it that makes sure your IE will crash (most versions of IE7 and lower), so open at your own risk.
They did this just to point out that there are other browsers than Microsoft’s Internet Explorer.
They mention FireFox, Opera and Safari as IE alternatives. In one of my previous posts I talked about the browser I’m using most of the times, Maxthon browser. It runs on the shell off IE, but it’s more stable and has a lot more features then IE. And to prove it’s more usefull than IE, it didn’t crash when I opened the Crash IE site. ![]()
Even a few weeks back I discovered a new very neat feature in Maxthon, split your screen. My daughter wanted to look at some cartoons straight from Youtube, and I started surfing in the tab next to it. Very handy. I don’t know if this is also possible in FF, Opera or Safari?
My previous Stumbling Friday got 3 comments and by now they’ve been stumbled by me.
A little note to KexBrown, I’m going to put in an extra line in my ‘Stumble Me, I stumble you’ post.
I also agree that Stumble’s aren’t a thing to waste on bad articles, so I’m going to adjust the post a bit. And I really appreciated the comment!!!
