9/11 6 years after

2 more days and it’s 9/11 once again.
Probably most of you guys and girls are tired of these kind of posts, but this one I especially created for my American readers, I want to know how they feel about it now after 6 years. (Others are welcome to post comments to off-course).
I still remember what I was doing that day, at work (worked at a bank in 2001) there were colleagues of me that had a TV at their desk to follow the stock market. When suddenly CNN started with their special live coverage of the World Trade Center attack. It didn’t took long or everyone was looking at CNN’s coverage. Then suddenly the 2nd plane crashed itself into the WTC and it was clear to us all this wasn’t an accident, this was an attack. What I really remember from that day is the look on my colleagues faces, I never seen faces in real life that had so many questions written on. What’s happening? Is this real or a movie? There where also a few people saying World War 3 was going to start. You could see and feel the disbelief everyone felt at that moment.
I only had to work till 12 o’ clock because me and my girlfriend planned to go on holliday the day after. So driving home, I listened to a live coverage of the story on the radio. Once home, instead of going to the shop to get some stuff we still needed for our holliday, I turned on CNN and watch the towers collapse, now it really felt like I was watching a movie. I was thinking, oh my f**king God, how many people are still trapped in there?

So now 6 years have past since the day the world changed, in my opinion. A few days ago the German police made a few arrests regarding terrorism attacks. On Friday a new video message appeared of Bin Laden, not actually threatening like before, but still saying I’m alive and you still didn’t caught me. He’s more proposing to be a leader that speaks to other leaders some articles say.

With these new things that are happening, I have some questions for you guys and girls.

  • What do you think about this?
  • Do you feel that the intelligence agencies are really making improvements in stopping terrorism?
  • Is there anyway how we can stop this, or can’t it be stopped?
  • What do you feel has changed in America since then?
  • Is it safer, or does it feel safer?
  • A couple of question to think about I think, but I love to see your input on these one’s.
