Belgium won the bronze medal at Osaka

Today was a marvelous day for the belgian athletic fans.
In the 4x100m relay for women we won the bronze medal!!!
Finally another medal in an Athletics World Championship since Mohammed Mourhit in 1999.
Olivia Borlée, Hanna Mariën, Elodie Ouedraogo and Kim Gevaert also ran a new national record on this discipline with 42.85 seconds. Team USA and Jamaica where too fast for our belgian girls, but they did beat Great Britain and Russia.

Way to go girls and hopefully next year at the olympics we’re going for a medal once again?

Also as mentioned in my previous post, Tyson Gay runs himself into history, as he allready has won 2 gold medals at the World Championship in Osaka.

Today he has won his 3th gold medal by winning the 4x100m relay for America.
Together with his teammates Darvis Patton, Wallace Spearmon and Leroy Dixon they finished 1st in 37,78 seconds, the fastest time this year.
Jamaica came in 2nd and Great Britain took home the bronze medal.

With this win, Tyson Gay is only the fourth person all time to win 3 gold medals in a single World Championship.
