In february I had 2 Top Commentators, Haney from Selfobliged was one of them.
And as you can read in my previous post, I’m going to reward my visitors who take the time to leave a comment here.
Because Haney replied first to my mail, she will be the first one to get featured here (I’ve already put up her 125x125ad in my sidebar for 1 month). I hope Sarah will reply to my mail with questions pretty soon, so I can put her reward online here also.
Haney is a 22 year old girl from sunny Singapore and is blogging to earn some extra ‘moolah’ (as she calls it
) for financing her studies. She pursuing a degree in Biomedical.
Her blog is about giving tips on how we can live a better and healthier live and everything else that has a touch with life itself.
A few posts I like to point out for reading are her “Safe Sex Fashion” post and her “Are You Having Trouble Sleeping?” post.
Her blog reads very easy in my opinion and I think this is because she blogs very personally or that she has experienced it in one way or another.
But I do want to point out a little tip for you Haney, I see that you have a couple of plugins in your rightbar, like ‘top commentator’ and ‘Blogroll’ (I want to be in it, going to sent you a mail for this).
Did you ever think about implementing a ‘Most Popular post’ section? I have it on my site and I see that it will help to keep your readers on your blog. Just my opinion, other than that, site looks great.
As talked about before, I also mailed a few questions to Haney. Here they are, with her answers.
When did you first start thinking about blogging and why?
I started to think about serious blogging and purchase my own domain since Jan 2008. Why? Cause I wanted to share some tips to help YOU and your loved ones to lead a better and healthier life. But other than, I’m experimenting to earn some income online.
When did you actually start blogging?
3 years back. Not high profile…just meant to be read by close friends.
Did you used a layout template for your blog or did made one yourself?
I’m a noob in designing templates.
Do you blog on more than 1 blog or do you put all your attention to one blog?
Selfobliged.com and another private blog.
What do you like about blogging?
Able to share my views and tips with anyone who reads.
You have any particular recurring topics (for example my Stumbling Friday posts) you post about or do you blog about anything that comes into your mind?
After reading your Stumbling Friday post, I actually started a StumbleUpon Weekend. And some bloggers are starting to follow the great idea. Thanks to YOU, Eric!
Do you use any social media like Digg, StumbleUpon, Technorati, MyBlogLog, others?
The main ones are SU, Technorati, MyBloglog, and LinkReferral.
Why should people visit your site?
I don’t focus on a niche. If you need some self-improvement, check out mine. Do subscribe to my feeds!
What’s the best advice you can give to other bloggers?
Don’t expect readers to only give comments on your blog, do the same to others too.
If you could start over once again, should you do something different?
nah…I’m happy with the way it is.
If you would ask me one question, what question do I have to answer then?
Can you share with me some times on how you earn moolah online? ![]()
My answer: Keep reading my posts in the future, this is one of the reasons why I started this blog, to share things I know or experienced.
This completes my questionnaire. Do you feel like there are other questions I need to ask to my top commentators in the future or did I overlooked some important questions? Let me know, I will take a look at them and if they’re good I’ll ask them next time.
Haney, thx for visiting my blog and hope to see you around here in the future also.
If you're new here or if you like this post, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed or get your blog updates by email . You can also find out what I'm doing right now by following me on Twitter. Thanks for visiting!

@Melissa, with this reward, it’s not actually the same as a website review. I do blog a bit about their blog or site, but I want their input also. That’s where the questions are for. And share some link love ofcourse.
But I will keep this in my mind. Also thx for the positive comment ![]()
@Haney, good for you, hope it will help to keep your readers on your site a bit longer

I will try to become the top commentators, can you tell how many comments they left for that month? Thanks.

I think rewarding top commentators is an excellent idea! It shows that you value your blog visitors.I’ve actually noticed that more and more blogs are doing this now. For example, my friend Marcus Hochstadt decided to reward his top commentators with a free website review. Have you ever thought of doing something like that? It seems like you have the experience for it.
Cheers,
Melissa
