Losing with a Full House

A Royal Flush, Straight Flush, 4-of-a-kind and a higher Full House are the only cards that can beat a Full House. Today I’ve lost my Full House to 4-of-a-kind with the 7. Ending my tournament on the 441st place.
Today I’ve tried a little other approach than the last few times and that was playing more hands in the beginning. So whenever I had 2 cards that where suited, following each other or had a pair I’d call and depending of the strength of my hand I’d raise. Pretty soon I only had 700 left after my 3-of-a-kind with the J came down to the kicker. And I had the 10 and my opponent the Q. A few hands later I doubled up with pocket 9’s against pocket 5’s to get me started again.
But my 5 Q of diamonds took me to this blog post by losing to a 4-of-a-kind.
Too bad, but losing against a hand like this, I really don’t mind.

Last Saturday I also played in a tournament, but I had to go all-in pretty quick to see my hand being beaten by a straight. Before the flop I raised to 200 which states I had a good hand (QQ). 4 people called. For some reason they don’t listen to my raise smile Flop turned 9 Q 4 giving me trips. Again I raised 600 this time. Still to people that called me? What hands do they have, AA, KK? The turn showed a 3 so nothing wrong there, time to go all-in. If they want to see the river it’s going to cost them, 700 extra in the pot, 1 guy called and I knew he’s going to get the card he needed to beat me. I figured out he’s playing for the straight and just needed a 10, a J, 8 or K.  Cards shown on the table, 7 and 10. I still have lots of outs, everything but a J saves me. And of course the river was a J. giving him a straight.
If this was on a real table I would throw ugly words at him like Phill Hellmuth would, asking him what the hell he was thinking by calling my 200 raise in the pre-flop with those cards???

And away was another shot of ending up in the money.

This blog on the other hand is doing really fine, a special thanks the nice guys from Partygammon to discover my site and my quest.
